Journey to America

My husband DA is travelling with me and after leaving Uist, we spent one night in Glasgow for last minute shopping and a haircut !. We travelled to Heathrow for a connecting flight to Boston. We had the most amazing journey EVER to Boston

The 7 hours felt like 7 minutes.

Who said Gaelic was a dead language! It featured in the welcome sign at Boston Logan International. We arrived in our Hotel at 10pm (3am UK time).

Next morning we had a few hours so we were up early and decided to go looking for the ‘Cheers’ bar

Boston public gardens

And the fantastic Boston Library

At 12:30 we headed for South Street Bus terminal for our connection to Portland Maine. The bus takes 2 hours and the train was going to take 3 1/2. We opted for the bus to see some of the area.

Before we left the UK I had said to DA , don’t mention Donald Trump to any Americans, by the time we got on the bus to Portland, DT had been mentioned 3 times by Americans, on finding out we were Scottish we were told twice that DT’s Mum is from Scotland and the 3rd time DA was told he had the same first name as the president.

Portland is to be my base for the next two weeks.
